We traveled north and arrived in Scotland early August 2014 staying the first night at a small B&B in Perth on our way to Aberdeen to catch up Andrew and Gemma.
The country side varies from grazing and wooded area, with occasional wintering barns...
... to mixed intensive grazing and extensive grain growing seen below.
Good pasture in the foreground with grain in the background.
Continuous grain growing, much of it for the distilleries.
By late August with damp weather as the grain ripened harvesting was significantly delayed. This photo taken on 20 August with light rain falling at the time. Grain driers were busy.
We continued northward after lunching with Andrew and Gemma to return to Aberdeenshire later in the month. Further Scotland travels can be seen in later posts.
We returned from Orkney on 5 August and continued our mainland Scotland travels. See later blog.
